A letter from His Imperial Majesty, Emperor Sullobog the First, on the upcoming trip to Portsmouth.
“We have thought it best to share with you, Our dear subjects, the objectives of Our trip to Portsmouth on the evening of February the tenth in this two hundred and twenty third year of the War Against The Powendah.
Our reasons for Us holding court in Portsmouth are twofold, We desire to help raise the moral of Our dear subjects who reside in Portsmouth and We think it prudent to take council with Our most trusted advisors, generals, thanes and nobles, gentlemen and gentlewomen all, on how best to advance in this struggle against the Powendah.
We keep the Our loyal subjects who now reside in Portsmouth always close to Our heart and foremost in Our thoughts. We know all to well the horrors of Portsmouth and the pain of those who now live in the reach of its influence. We now call to mind the wisdom of the ages that has been handed down to us from times of old, “God made Portsmouth to train the faithful”. Oh how often has this phrase flown from Our lips? How often have We roared this as a war-cry to rally the faithful or murmured it in the hopes it would give hope to those who have been disparaged. But this is not a hollow motto, this is hope itself to those of you who suffer in Portsmouth, take faith that the fires that burn you are not the pains of hell but rather they are the purifying flames of a purgatory that burns away your weaknesses and leaves you in a much advanced state.
We have the a strong hope and a firm desire that our visit to Portsmouth will remind you, Our faithful subjects, that your Emperor has you always in mind and that We are working tirelessly to ensure your liberation from the Powendah forces that threaten the dignity and liberty that have been entrusted to you from the Lord God.
While in Portsmouth we would be most pleased if all of the Nobles, who have been entrusted with the administration of Portsmouth and her surrounding districts, would enter into Our presence so that we might take council with thee. The Great War of Powendah Aggression has gone for 223 years and the cost to the lands under Our stewardship has been great. These past few months have been devastating to our holy mission and those who attack Our lands have been emboldened. The brash and cruel assault on the Church and the institutions She administers too has been shocking and horrifying even compared to the blasphemies and sacrileges that have previously have been committed by the Powendah Forces. We are referring specifically to the edict by the Occupation Government that in a year’s time all employers will have to offer a health insurance package that includes abortifacients and contraception, thus making the Church a financial supporter of sin and an actor against the dignity of man that the Lord paid such a high price to redeem. Needless to say this cannot be allowed to come to pass. Even in this dark time, Our heart has been gladden at the sight of so many of Our subjects taking up arms to defend Holy Mother Church, and the ingenious weapon you have decided upon has been the very Judicial System that the Occupation Government had created to bludgeon you with! Already some of you have started lawsuits against the illegal Department of Health and Human Services. Using the Occupation Governments own bureaucracy against it was a marvelous move and We only regret that We did not think of it first! Even though this strategy did not originate with Us, this tactic from the peasantry is most pleasing and We have a firm faith that you will be successful in this endeavor.
Another sphere in which the Powendah Forces have made advancements has been in the realm of American cinema. While the Powendah have always held sway over all instruments of popular culture, the Mashiek forces loyal to us have at least held a foothold in the American Film industry. But over close examination of the films being relieced these past few months have shown us that Our forces in Hollywood might have been defeated by, or defected to, the Powendah camp. We have lost all contact with our loyal forces in Hollywood but We trust that those who remain loyal to us and who defend Our cause are still fighting on.
